Regulate menstrual cycles post pregnancy with Homeopathy.

After pregnancy, it can take some time for menstrual cycles to normalize, particularly if you are still fully breastfeeding.

Almost everyone who is fully breastfeeding their babies will be free of menstrual periods for 3 – 6 months or longer. This is called lactational amenorrhea. Frequent nursing inhibits the release of hormones that cause your body to begin the monthly preparations for a new pregnancy.

Experiencing a menstrual period does not mean that your menstrual cycle has returned permanently and without an accurate clinical test, you won’t know whether or not you ovulated (released an egg and could potentially become pregnant).

You are more likely to ovulate and resume regular periods if your baby is going for more than a few hours without breastfeeding (for instance, at night) and your baby is more than 6 months old.

Most breastfeeding mothers will resume their periods between 9 and 18 months after their baby’s birth. Weaning your baby will almost certainly cause your menstrual cycle to return, but most people find that they do not need to wean in order for their cycle to gradually resume.

For those interested in homeopathic remedies to help restart their periods postpartum, here are five commonly recommended options:

1. Pulsatilla

   - Why It's Helpful: Pulsatilla is often recommended for women whose periods are delayed or absent after pregnancy. It's particularly beneficial if you experience mood swings or feel emotionally sensitive.

2. Sepia

   - Why It's Helpful: Sepia is ideal if you're feeling physically and emotionally drained, irritable, or overwhelmed. It helps when there's a sense of heaviness or bearing-down sensation in the pelvic area.

3. Natrum Muriaticum

   - Why It's Helpful: This remedy is suited for women who are experiencing delayed periods post-pregnancy and feel emotionally sensitive or withdrawn. It's particularly helpful if you have a history of menstrual problems.

4. Calcarea Carbonica

   - Why It's Helpful: Calcarea Carbonica is beneficial for women who tend to feel chilly, fatigued, and anxious. It's useful for those whose periods are slow to return after pregnancy.

5. Cimicifuga (Black Cohosh)

   - Why It's Helpful: Cimicifuga is great for addressing hormonal imbalances and regulating menstrual cycles. It's known to support the body's natural rhythms.

Most of these remedies are available in the Helios Basic 36 Remedy Kit, I highly recommend this kit, it’s great value, has a handy travel case and a comprehensive, easy to follow remedy guide. You can purchase that here:

Typical Dosage

It’s always best to have a homeopathic remedy prescribed for you, based on your overall symptom picture.

As a general guideline, a 30C potency can be taken once daily for up to 7 days without the guidance of a Homeopath. For more specific remedy and dosage advice tailored for your particular symptoms, please contact me.

Important Reminders:

- Consult a Homeopath: It's important to consult with a professional homeopath to get personalized advice and ensure the remedy is right for your specific situation.

- Support Overall Health: Maintaining a balanced diet, managing stress, getting adequate sleep, and staying hydrated can also support your menstrual health.
